Going Back To Work
Lately I have been looking for a job that I could do to bring in some extra $ so we don't need to take out more loans for this whole medical school journey. There have been a few opportunities, but I just didn't take them. I was asked to teach again next year. It would be at my old school in Alpine as a part time 1st grade teacher where I would just teach in the morning and then another girl would teach the afternoon. I really did consider it as I really miss teaching, but in the end, I decided it is just too much time to leave my two babies at home without a mommy and daddy. What I did decide to do, though, is going to be perfect for me. I am going to teach at an adult learning center. We assist mostly young adults, as they are preparing to take their G.E.D. or trying to get credits to receive their high school diploma. For now it will just be a couple nights a week from 4:00-8:00 and then I am hoping that in August it will change to where I am teaching ESL classes. That's my ultimate job, as I love ESL and would just teach 2 nights a week from 6-8:30. I am very excited about this opportunity, but also struggle with actually leaving my kids with others. I won't lie. It did take almost a year to get used to being a stay at home mom, but I really am glad that I have been able to do it. I know having the mommy home is really the best scenario for my children. However, I also know that if my kids are always surrounded by people who they know love them, then that is what really matters. So I will do all I can to make sure that happens. My kids are very lucky to have many people around them who fit this quality. Not only lots of family around, but also a friend down the street, Carli. As you will read my next post, you will see what kids notice even when you don't realize that they "get it" :)

That's great that you won't have to leave them during the day! :)
That sounds like a good opportunity for you. With so much family around it's a great chance for the kids to get "extra" time with them.
Sounds like a great gig and as hard as it is to leave your boys, I am sure feels good to not have to have so much debt to worry about.
I'm so happy for you!! Hope the second week goes as well as the first. =)
Let me know if you need babysitters for your late nights! We love your boys, and well...we want to help out (especially because now I feel guilty for not coming to your rescue last week when the Lutters were all sick!) :-(
Love you!
You are such a great teacher, they will love you. Sounds like a good balance for you as a mom too! Can't wait to hear how things go.
This is so cool, Rebecca! I'm so glad you got such a great opportunity!
How exciting!
I'm so glad you have so much family around. That is a blessing. Good luck with the new job!
That sounds perfect. Blessings.
