"Mom, good thing we have so many people around us when our daddy's gone!"

(***Warning****this is a very long post, but I just wanted to document all the help I have received this week and just say thank you to all of you who have been involved one way or another in all of this :) I sure love all of you, and I and the rest of my family know that you love us not just because of your words but also your actions, so THANK YOU !!!)

Well said, Kordin :) Yesterday morning, Keith left for good ole Kirksville, MO for a few days for testing he had to do with fellow classmates. Last night, when Kordin said this, I replied, "Like who?" And he said, "Like Nana, and Shel(who both live a few blocks away), and Papa(who lives 20 min. away), and Carli(my friend who lives down the street). " Then he said, "They all help take care of us when daddy's gone, but good thing Carli has us, too, huh, mom? Cuz we help take care of her when their daddy is gone." I was very impressed with his way of thinking. Just that he gets it that everyone helps take care of each other. We all pitch in when we can. This week I've needed alot of help, though!!! It all started on Monday, when I didn't feel very good and it just got worse as the day went on. My sister, Rachelle, called at 2:00 and heard I wasn't feeling well and said she'd be right over to get the boys. So I was able to sleep uninterrupted for a couple of hours. Then Keith came home with the kids and he was sick too. So, I went downstairs and laid on the couch with the kids as they played around me :) Luckily, I woke up the next morning feeling 90% better. This is a whole other blog post, but I decided to get a job, so we wouldn't have to take any more loans out and I had to go to to my first day of work at 1:00. So, in comes my mom to watch the kids that afternoon. She is always so willing to hang out with the boys and they just adore their Nana. As I'm driving home after work, I find out that while I was gone, my mom had to take the kids with her to Kordin's school to get him because he had thrown up. So I got home to take care of him and Keith who was still sick(poor guy cuz he was needing to study for his tests in MO) Thankfully that night, Carli, my friend from down the street brought dinner over, so I didn't have to worry about that. Then Thursday , my mom was going to take Keith to the airport early in the morning, but she called and was very sick with what we all have had. So we all piled in the car to take daddy to the airport, but we really wanted to anyways :) Yesterday wasn't too bad. All day, Carli kept calling to make sure I didn't need anything, but I knew that she wasn't feeling all that great, along with some of her kids. Then came today, I was supposed to work from 10-4 and all the people I had arranged to watch my kids were either sick or had sick kids. My Dad was already planning on coming down to read with Kordin in his classroom at 3:00 today, so I asked him if he wouldn't mind coming down at 9:30 and just watching all the kids until 2:30, then he could take the younger kids to Rachelle and then go read with Kordin. Of course he said he would cuz he loves spending time with the boys and they love their Papa. The day didn't go quite as planned though. Kordin ended up with "the runs" aaaalllllll day long and Papa had him stay home so he wouldn't have an accident at school and be embarrassed at school :) What a good papa. Rachelle, (who came over late tonight to bring some gatorade over for Kordin, cuz I was worried he was going to get dehydrated because, yes, he has had that many "runs" tonight), said that when she stopped over during the afternoon, that dad had everything under control with the boys playing "crash derby" with the cars and then Kordin just rested on his Papa's shoulder when he didn't feel good. So it was so nice to know that they were all taken so good care of when I had to be gone so long! And as Kordin said, "GOOD THING WE HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE AROUND US WHEN OUR DADDY'S GONE!"
