Camping

We've been wanting to go camping all summer, but when we would get it planned, it would rain. Well, last Thursday, Keith and I told Kordin we were going to go on Friday, and he said, "FINALLY!" So Friday morning, after we sent Kordin off on the school bus, we got in the car and headed up to Big Cottonwood Canyon to claim our spot. Luckily we went so early, cuz we got one of the last spots available. Here are some fun pictures from our weekend:

We didn't really do the whole camping experience because we decided to just pick up dinner on the way up. It was sooo good. Famous Daves BBQ Ribs :) As you can see in this picture, Kordin looooves ribs!!!

Danny and Keith enjoying their ribs

Whitney and Morgen doing the Camping Pose :) They came up with their dad for the evening until after smores, so that was fun having them there, too.

All the kids- yes, we were missing Daxon. My dear mom kept him overnight for us and took him on his own little outing to the Thanksgiving farms :) I know it made our camping trip much easier, but we were glad to see him when we got home :) Thanks, Mom, for taking such good care of him :)

We took a walk and found this beautiful area right across the road from us.

Here is Whitney standing on a tree that had literally pulled the roots right out with it when it fell over.

We met up with the two moose who live in the camp ground. They really came close to us!

In this picture you can see Keith holding Karson up so he can see it.

When we woke up the next morning we broke camp and drove up to Silverlake at Brighton. I love this picture! Keith and I took the same exact picture 7 1/2 years ago and had it framed and it now hangs in our living room.

I love pictures of the kids following in Keith's footsteps.

On our way down, in true "not total camping experience form", we stopped at a lodge for breakfast. The boys loved their hot chocolate and you can see Keith was not completely awake yet, since he hardly slept the night before. We will definitely be taking air mattresses from now on!

Oh what a fun time. I am missing those Mountains. I think my favorite part would be the hot chocolate at the lodge too.
