A good friend from medical school came to visit last week with her 3 girls. She was brave enough to drive out from MO all by herself(without her husband)!!! I have a couple of brave friends who do that kind of thing and they have always lived to tell about it. I think it's just because they are really good mothers!! She stayed overnight one night with her girls and picked up her husband in the middle of that night while we were all fast asleep. It was so much fun to just visit with her and enjoy her cute girls. They are all about the same age as my boys, so they had a blast together. One really good talk I had with Tara was about the very unique place she is living right now. It is full of lots of young families with husbands(and wives) who are in medical school. For the most part, the mothers are like single parents because the husbands just really have to study ALL THE TIME. Hence, they all end up relying on each other. The neat thing that I noticed was how strong the spirit was there because of this. I think it has to be because so many girls are needing help and if others are really in tune and listening they will know who needs help. I know I was a recipient of this kind of help many times and the only way girls would have known I needed something was if they were really listening to their hearts.
For those of you who are still there, keep listening and helping each other, because you really are in a unique place! Enjoy the time you are there :)
Thank you, Tara, for your friendship and for coming and visiting us!!!

I miss that med school support. I don't want to scare people off here but I just want to say "You want to be friends? Can I come to your house just to hang out? Do you want to do lunches and project nights and movie nights? What? Your husband's home at 5? Whatever." :)
I miss those days too! I am so grateful for all the friendships and support!
Glad she was able to visit!! I'm anxious to hear how her trip went. =) At least she bought a DVD player!! =)
