9-11
So, today is a day that I always think back on as a wake up call to my patriotism. I remember exactly where I was 7 years ago. I had just woken up and turned the t.v. on and saw the twin towers on fire. I remember right before I left, Keith told me to keep my phone close during the day because the attacks may not be finished, and I remembering saying, "Really? You really think someone is attacking our country???" But then that really became apparent, as I was driving to school, I heard on the news about the Pentagon. I dreaded going to school and having to discuss these terrible events with my class of 2nd graders. All the way to school, I was praying for the peace of our country and for all those who had died and who had lost loved ones. I was praying for the right words to say to my sweet little innocent 7 year olds when they all walked into class that day. I remember that I didn't really have to say much, as many parents had already talked to their children who were already so wise beyond their years. Those sweet children came into class and wanted to talk about it. Sure many thought it was scary, but for the most part, they were concerned about the other children out there who lost their parents because of the bad people. I learned from them that day that we shouldn't be soooo caught up in the bad people, but what we could do about the good people and how to help them. What wise little people :) I feel so blessed to live in this beautiful country of freedom. I hope and pray that we can continue to fight for our freedom and others in the world.

very well said!!! 9/11 is a day we will always remember. I think you are right...focus on the good in people not the bad. I remember the weeks after how American came together to show their love for our country. That was so awesome to see!!! Are you going to Ireland too? If yes...have a grat time!!!

I am glad you put this into perspective. Thanks for the 9/11 reminder. And, you are sooo right...it seems that the best lessons to be learned come from the mouths of little children!
Sweet post, Rebecca. I, too, remember everything about that day. I hope and pray that we never have to go through that again.
