Don't you hate when you look down at your fuel guage and see this?????

Last week, I got together with some of my friends from when I lived in Kirksville, who also have husbands in Utah doing their rotations. We always have so much fun together!!!!

We went to play games, but ended up talking and laughing for 4 hours. Finally at 11:30, Raquel(who I had driven with) and I decided we should probably get moving, as we wouldn't get home until after 12:00 by this time. Well, it was much later than that when got home, as we had an out-of-gas-adventure :) We were driving along, when Raquel looked down and said, "Oh, I think we better stop and get gas." We were not even 1/4 of a mile from the 33rd South off ramp when the car started sputtering to a stop.

So, she called her insurance and they were sending her gas.

As were were waiting, though, a kid, who looked no more than 15, stopped and started walking to our car. It was one of those moments where I wasn't sure if I should roll down the window or not. With Raquel's coaching, I rolled it down and he asked if he could take us anywhere and that he really was a good person:) Of course, we told him we were fine with someone on the way. You really never know these days who is stopping to help you!

After that, we sat for awhile, getting pretty bored, wondering if there were even policeman patrolling the area, cuz shouldn't they at least pull over?? So we took those kind of pictures you take when you're bored and have nothing to do :)

At that point, a police man(who also didn't look much older than 15) pulled over. I jumped in his car, in the back where I was completely surrounded by a cage, and he took me to a gas station to get gas.

As I sat in this cage, I was very glad that I have led the kind of life where I would never have to be claustrophobic in the back of a police car!!!! We got gas and he took me back where he gassed us up.

Then we drove right back where I got that little gallon of gas and Raquel finished it up.

("Uh, yah, honey, I'm filling the car up" :)

We ended up getting home just before 2:00. So it was a long trip home, but at least it was with someone who could make me laugh about it :)

I love it!! What a fun adventure. If I ever run out of gas I hope it's with you two and not my screaming kids! Do they really let 12 year old boys be policeman now?? Does this mean I'm just getting old because everyone else looks so young?

Is there an age minimum on Police Officers. There should be. That guy was not old enough. That's so funny that you took a picture of him filling your tank. Sounds like you guys had an adventure.

Okay, that is the FUNNIEST post I have ever read! I love love love all the pictures! Your police man truly looked 15 years old! What in the world?! He was like a kid! And those pics of you and Raquel are so cute - you both are gorgeous! I have to say that seeing these pictures of you all hanging out has me seriously missing you all, and our fun-filled days in Kville!

This was one of the most imaginative blogs. It was like an early April fools prank, and what a hoot! I was just thinking about it today, and thought that I probably owe you some cash for my new gas tank that came with that eventful night!

I have thought many times that I was going to run out of gas, but it has never happened! What a great adventure (and good photos for the blog too!)

I didn't think it was possible for Raquel to ever run out of gas.

Seriously, wish I was there! I miss you!
