Mommy's Day Off

For the first time in a few years, my sisters and brother in laws did a gift exchange. My sister, Krista, had my name and she called me before Christmas and asked what my top 5 things I'd want for Christmas were. The first thing that came to my mind was "a day to myself". We laughed at that(though I was really serious) and then I told her more things. At the end, she asked what I most wanted of all those things and again I said, "a day to myself" :) Not thinking at all that this is what I'd get, I was pleasantly surprised when, on Christmas morning, she handed me an envelope with money and a "sample itinerary" for a day to myself on Tuesday, January 8. She came to my house yesterday morning and took over for the day of all mommy duties. I had such a wonderful day. First, I went to Kiddie Kandids, because I knew Natalie was there with her cuties getting pictures. It was so fun to see her and those gorgeous twins who were trying so hard to give that lady some good pictures :) Then I had my first manicure of my life. I think I need to do those more often! I love not having to paint my own nails and oh that hand massage!!!! Who knew a hand massage could be so nice!!! Then I walked around the mall for awhile with no kids hanging on my neck or hands :) Next I met my mom, aunt, Erica, Brandon, Lindsay, Sophie, Krista and Karson and Daxon for lunch. All through the lunch, Krista did all she could to not let me have to hold my boys. She was so sweet, but it was fun to see them all at lunch :)(Thanks for the great lunch, mom) While we were eating lunch, Keith called and told me he was done for the day, so I went and met him for a movie in Sandy. It was so fun to go to a movie in the middle of the day with my sweetie. It felt like we were playing hookie from our regular day and sneaking away. We saw I Am Legend. Wil Smith is so good in that movie. It was a very scary movie for me and pretty good, but I thought it had a bit of a weak ending. After that, Keith went home to get Kordin off to Tae Kwan Do and I went and did some book shopping(I'm done with all the books in Twilight, darn it, and needed something new) Then I took my car to get it cleaned out at Sonic. It was a mess and wanted to take full advantage of not having any car seats in it so it could really get clean :) That was the end of my wonderful day....driving home in nice clean car :) Thank you, Krista, for the best Christmas present a mom could ever ask for! (And thank you Lindsay and Sophie for the moral support you gave Krista through the day :) I sure love you!!!!
Me, leaving Krista, in charge of the house and the kids :)

What a GREAT gift!! It sounds like you had a great time! We just recently saw I Am Legend too! Though I think you really can't go wrong with Will Smith, I was really not happy with the ending either! I hear the book has a completely different ending, but I don't know how it ends. Maybe I will have to check it out one of these days!

What a great sis you have! It's funny how nice it is to go to the mall or just get your car washed without little bodies hanging on you. Next time you have a day off I highly recommend trying a pedicure, now that you've done the manicure. They're both great!
