A Day in the Life of Karson

Karson back when he had just turned 1

This is one of those posts that I just have to post, so that I will remember this day. Karson is 2 1/2 and it definitely came out in different ways today. As most of you know, he has always been the cutest little sweetest boy in the world. But he does have his "I'm two" moments! It started with this morning when I put him in his bedroom for yelling. As I put him in his room he looked up at me and said, "Mom, I hate your stinkin guts!" If any of you have seen the new Little Rascals movie, there's a part where Alfalfa writes a letter to Darla and says this out loud, but is really writing, "I can't live without you." This movie is Karson's favorite right now and obviously picked up on this line. When he said this to me, I had to turn around so he wouldn't see me smiling. Then I got down to his level and calmly told him that we don't talk that way to mommy. So he said with a smile, "I love your stinkin guts?" Not too long after that, I walked into his room where he was feeding Kordin's Fishy one piece at a time. I told him he could feed him two more, but he said he was hungry and he needed more. I explained that he would get sick if he ate too much and took the food away. Awhile later, I was putting clothes away in his room and noticed that Fishy was not in his bowl. I saw the lid was off and immediately thought he had jumped out. So I started looking around, but the next thing I saw gave Karson away. I saw the net lying on the floor and Fishy in Kordin's shirt drawer. I called Karson in and asked him why he took Fishy out. He said, "Mom, that fishy was bored. He wanted out." Then I showed him that now he was dead and we needed to flush him down the toilet. So we took him to the toilet and dropped him in. As soon as I dropped him in, he started swimming around!!!! If it hadn't been more than just water in that toilet, I would have fished him out and put him back in his bowl!!! But now he is swimming around down the sewer somewher! So remember before throwing a fish down the toilet put him back in his water first and see if he is still alive. Apparently, they can survive outside their bowl for awhile.

This wasn't the end of Karson's day! He next proceeded to not take a nap and at the end of his very tired day around 5:00, he smashed his toe and then discovered he had a painful hangnail on his thumb and wouldn't let me put him down for an hour. Luckily, Rachelle had just come and taken Kordin with her to play with her girls, so I had one less child, and Daxon just crawled around me smiling :) I was sure that Karson was going to fall asleep, but that didn't happen until about 8:00 when I finally laid him on my bed with me and told him I was going to sleep. He kept trying to talk to me, but I pretended like I was sleeping until he finally snuggled into me and fell asleep!!! Oh what a day :) I sure do love that cutie!

He is SOOO cute. And, the cutest almost-three year old I know. Hands down.

Hmm I may have helped with the "stinking guts" comment. When Krista and I babysat last week Karson and I recited it a few times until we had it memorized;) but man I love that kid, all of them.

That fish story is hilarious! I will keep that in mind in case it ever happens at our house!

Hilarious! I killed many a guppy in my younger years. Carson's sweet little face shows no obvious signs of mischeiviousness, but sometimes it's just unavoidable.
