do his own hair and have his own pet!!!
Yesterday, Kordin came to me with his hair all done and telling me he needed to feed his fish. At that moment, it dawned on me that I have a child who no longer needs me to do his hair for him(cuz as you can tell, he does a pretty good job himself) and he really is old enough to take care of his own pet. This doesn't mean that he'll get anything more than this great Beta fish and his tiny sea monkeys in the near future. Maybe in 5 years he can have a lizard :) I sure love this cutie!!! I'm so thankful to have such a great boy as my oldest. He really tries to be a good brother to his younger siblings. He often does a better job at being nice to Daxon, but that's because he can't ruin any of his toys yet. And he is so proud of himself when he is nice to Karson :) He'll run into me just to tell me he was helping Karson and gave him a big kiss :)
A side note to the fish: Don't ever feel like you have to protect a child's feelings if one of their pets dies. Last week, after Kordin accidentally knocked over his fish "Fishy" on the ground and it lay whipping around on the floor, something tragic must have happened to that fish's psyche because a couple of days later, I found Fishy dead. I tried to hide him from Kordin, so that when he was at school, I could go get him a new one and he'd never know it had died. Well, Monday, I got a new one, close to the same color (or so I thought)as Fishy. That night, Kordin ran into me and said, "Mom, come look at Fishy!!! He's beautiful!! He changes colors!!!" I went into his room and told him the real story- that Fishy had died, because I had forgotten to feed it. (I didn't want him to think it was because of it falling out of his bowl.) He handled it better than I thought he would and I learned a good lesson that day. To always tell the truth to my children. He learned a great lesson too, cuz he never forgets to feed this new fish, "Buddy"

What a sweet boy Kordin is. Benjamin sure misses him, and is literally counting down the days (on his own calendar that he bought just for this purpose) until we visit next summer!
Kordin is the sweetest little guy. I love hearing these cute stories.
Very cute blog. It is so fun isn't it! I am wondering who your sister is that knows me. We know several "Call families". Let me know.
