Here's my idea of a very easy pet that is actually fun to watch. You can buy it at specialty stores. They are called Sea Monkeys. You could probably google it and find it somewhere. We got it at the Red Balloon Toy Store in UT.
I will have to look them up, but all I remember about Sea Monkeys: I was babysitting when I was 10 or 11 for some neighbors. Within 5 minutes of their parents leaving, they spilled all the sea monkeys on the floor. First thought, what the heck are Sea Monkeys and how the heck to do you get rid of them or clean them up. ?!! For a 10 year old who had never heard of them, and was "responsible" for the household, it was traumatic! I haven't really thought of them since. They don't seem so bad from your picture! ;)
They are look like a cross between shrimp and crawdads. They are funny. They have these huge bulging eyes and you can definitely tell who is the male and female!!!

So are they fish or tadpoles or what? I've heard of them before, but never knew exactly what they were or what they grew to be. :) Anyway, sounds fun!
